Kanye West Hopes to Settle Lawsuit

Kanye West is hoping to settle a lawsuit filed against him by stuntman Evel Knievel. On Tuesday, lawyers for Knievel filed papers in court announcing that they will enter into mediation with West's legal team to discuss a possible settlement.

Knievel filed the lawsuit against West in 2006, accusing him of tarnishing his image in West's "Touch the Sky" music video by using "vulgar, sexual and racially questionable content." In the video, West reenacted the daredevil's 1974 attempt to jump Wyoming's Snake River Canyon as the fictional character "Evel Kanyevel."

West's defense team argued that their client was protected by the First Amendment because the video was a satire.
